FPT and Airbus cooperated in digital transformation in aviation

Skywise will be the open door for FPT to become the comprehensive digital transformation supplier in aviation.

On June 19, FPT became one of the first five partners, along with Airbus, to launch a Skywise partner program in the world, lighting the way for the acceleration of digital transformation of the global aviation industry.

From 17 to 19 September, at the world’s largest aerospace exhibition held in Paris, Paris Air Show 2019, Airbus has announced its features. The other four partners are the world’s leading technology companies and Europe, including IBM, Accenture, Capgemini and Sopra Steria.

Skywise is the first data basis and application store among the global aviation industry, launched by Airbus in mid-2017 with the aim of not only helping all airlines around the world to improve their operations and business results but also supporting these businesses in the digital transformation process.

In December 12, FPT was the first technology company in Southeast Asia to participate in Skywise development, with the money scale of more than 800 billion USD. According to Airbus, through the Skywise foundation, the world’s leading IT services businesses will soon become the trend in developing application store for the aerospace industry, focusing on accelerating the digital transformation process.

FPT has participated in developing Skywise foundation since the early stages. For nearly 2 years, FPT has supported Airbus to collect, standardize and integrate data of more than 30 airlines in 15 countries worldwide, transmitting itself to the Skywise foundation. Moreover, Airbus’ goal for 2019 is to have 100 airlines and over 10,000 aircraft globally connected to this foundation.

“Airbus and FPT have comprehensively and extensively cooperated in the Skywise project. This is an aviation industry project for the whole world. We will not only go together in the first stage but we will also continue to closely associate in the future,” said Mathew Evans – the global Skywise Project Manager of Airbus.

On the other side, from the view of FPT, Mr. Hoang Nam Tien, Chairman of FPT Software, said: “Becoming a development partner of Airbus Skywise basis is the door for FPT to provide comprehensive digital transformation services in the airline industry. This is the result of new technology investment orientation and co-operation with companies that own the world’s leading technology basis that FPT has pursued for many years. Likewise, this is also a new step of FPT on the way to become a comprehensive digital transformation provision Corporation with a view in the next 10 years to reach the top 50 of companies providing global digital transformation services”.

In this day and age, FPT is presented in 45 countries, owning more than 16,000 engineers who has achieved thousands of new technology certificates, implementing projects for more than 600 leading companies among the world.
