On April 8th, a workshop on “Opportunities from New Tax Policy and World Economic Integration in the 4.0 Era”, which was jointly organized by the FPT School of Business (FSB) and the Small & Medium Enterprises Development Support Centre at Daewoo Hotel, has attracted nearly 200 business owners.
The workshop had two topics: “Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement and Issues challenges for Vietnamese Import-Export Sector” and “Knowledge of Tax Laws for Leaders and Managers” with two expert speakers: Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Tat Thang, Senior Economist, Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Mr. Nguyen Van Phung, Director of Corporate Tax Department, General Department of Taxation, Ministry of Finance.
Within the topic “Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement and Issues challenges for Vietnamese Import-Export Sector”, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Pham Tat Thang introduced 5 main world integration routines and the path which has been leading Vietnam from a socialist country to join international economic organizations. He also shared the advantages when Vietnam signed international agreements and actions that Vietnamese businesses must pay attention to avoid risks in confronting with strong competitors in the region. According to him, businesses have to ‘rely on each other to live’ in order to have sustainable growth and a good business environment.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phung, Director of Corporate Tax Department, General Department of Taxation, Ministry of Finance, introduced the tax subjects currently applied for enterprises with general regulations, applications and occurred situations. Especially, Mr. Nguyen Van Phung also warned enterprises to be careful with tax laws because all positions may involve tax. He advised, “Never commit a criminal offense when you prepare your tax declaration”.
